INTERNATIONAL SCOOTER FEDERATION

An international governing body for scooter sport and the global advocate for scooter riding.

On August 5th 2021, the International Scooter Association transitioned into the International Scooter Federation. A not for profit organisation established to promote, develop and create a sustainable future for scooter riding.

The ISF is made up affiliated members (National Governing Bodies) and associate (Industry) members. All members bring knowledge, experience and value to scooter matters and activity. The ISF co-ordinates, recognises, governs and develops an equal playing field for entire sport to benefit from. The ISF is dedicated to the development of the sport worldwide, on all levels from grassroots to pro level.

ISF INFORMATION

These Statutes provide for the organisational structure of ISF, and for the powers, rights and responsibilities of the bodies created by, or in accordance with, these Statutes. Together with the regulations enacted under it, the Statutes reflect the principles and norms that govern scooter activities worldwide.

The International Scooter Federation (ISF) is an association registered in the Commercial Register of the Canton of Zurich in accordance with art. 60 ff. of the Swiss Civil Code, and subject to the laws of Switzerland. ISF’s headquarters are located in Schweizergasse 8, CH-8001 Zürich, Switzerland.

The objectives of ISF are in particular:

  • to encourage scooter riding in all its forms by supporting any project or initiative which may contribute towards its development, to preserve the unity of the world’s scooter riding movement and to safeguard the material and moral interests of its members;
  • to defend the interests of the members of the ISF by encouraging collaboration and friendship between them and all organisations involved in scooter riding;
  • to oversee the organisation of the events carrying its name, and to ensure that they are run in a safe and environmental manner;
  • to promote responsible scooter riding sports and recreation, as well as safe scooter riding and mobility;
  • to defend, protect and represent the rights and interests of scooter riding sports in all dealings with governmental authorities as well as with public and private bodies;
  • to obtain a wide range of benefits for scooter users;
  • to promote and maintain cordial relations with scooter riders throughout the world;
  • to ensure that participants in scooter riding activities and particularly riders have the opportunity to provide direct input to the ISF on its activities.

The bodies of ISF are

  1. the ISF Congress
  2. the ISF Board of Directors
  3. the Judicial Bodies
  4. standing and ad-hoc committees, which shall advise and assist the BD in fulfilling their duties

The officials of the ISF shall comprise the members of the Board of Directors, the Secretary General, the members of the standing and ad-hoc committees, the members of the judicial bodies, the voting delegates at the Congress, the delegates at the Congress and the candidates for an executive position within the ISF.

The ISF aims to:

EQUALITY AND ACCESSIBILITY

  • Provide equal opportunity regardless of age, race, religion, gender, background or nationality
  • Help ensure scooter riding is accessible to everyone

ENVIRONMENT

  • Support relevant programmes and initiatives that promote sustainability
  • Coordinate the scooter industry and create campaigns that promote sustainability through scooter riding as a mode of transportation

SPORT

  • Promote the interests and safety of scooter riders at all levels
  • Establish rules, judging criteria, point scoring, standards and rankings for stunt scooter activity
  • Set competition formats & point systems for conducting international stunt scooter contests
  • Co-ordinate National and International activities and contests.
  • Work toward ensuring Freestyle Scooter Riding becomes recognized as an official sport
  • Promote the values of good sportsmanship.
  • Promote all aspects of the sport, improving cultural and sporting contacts between the
    scooter communities.
  • Work towards the inclusion of Scooter riding into multi-sports events.

MICROMOBILITY

  • Promote road safety to scooter riders
  • Promote the environmental benefits of riding a scooter as a mode of transportation
  • Increase participation and encourage more riders to scooter ride competitively as a sport

The world scooter championships were established in 2012 by the International Scooter Association (ISA). The championships have an international qualification system, rules and regulations, all of which are now governed by the ISF. The world scooter championships provide riders with a world stage to push the level of scooter riding and to showcase their sport to the world. The ISF will develop and support all scooter disciplines.

GOVERNANCE AND STRUCTURE

The ISF has a clear structure designed to enhance good governance, to promote its transparency and accountability, and to ensure compliance with the Olympic Charter and official federation status requirements.

ISF BOARD

The ISF shall be managed by its Board of Directors under the authority of the Congress. The board shall be responsible in regards to the management of the ISF and the regulation of scooter sports and activities. The board shall report on its management.

Tasked with helping to develop the sport and disciplines within the scooter industry. This committee is designed to work closely with the board of directors and rider committee. One of the Technical Committee is appointed as an ISF board member.

RIDER COMMITTEE SPORT

tasked with voicing the concerns, needs and ideas of the riders, providing input and suggestions. This committee is designed to work closely with the board of directors and Technical committee. One of the rider committee is appointed as an ISF board member.

The rider committee will grow in size based on each National Governing Bodies (NGBs) member appointing 1 male and 1 female rider.

NATIONAL GOVERNING BODIES

National associations which are representative of scooter riding activities in their own countries. Every Affiliated Member of the ISF shall be the sole organisation in its own country entitled to exercise the powers as defined in the ISF Statutes, the Sporting Code and other regulations of the ISF.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS AND PARTNERS

Associate members, representatives and partners also play an important role within the sport and industry. Although not tasked with developing the rules, regulations and governance of sport, the associate members provide a voice of the industry. They are tasked with helping to support the growth of the sport and entire industry, which includes lifestyle and mobility. These members support the welfare and interests of the riders. Members include brands, skateparks, event organisers and partners.
